Gordon – Stem Cell Therapy for Cerebral Palsy

Gorden is an 11-year-old boy who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy because he was born prematurely, he had stem cell therapy in China in 2006 with positive outcomes.

Gorden had very little muscle control and had never been able to relax his legs or his fingers on his own. He also had difficulty pronouncing words clearly. Gordon hoped to mitigate his severe muscle tension and gain some control of his movement. Being able to use his hands to operate a computer would be a major improvement in his quality of life, especially in his ability to communicate.

Gorden started stem cell therapy with a combination of umbilical cord-derived stem cells and nerve growth factor along with rehabilitation therapies in Nov. 28, 2006.

Before the treatment

Gordon was born prematurely. He had very little muscle control – he had never been able to relax his legs or his fingers on his own. He also had difficulty pronouncing words clearly.

After the treatment

Gordon grew several inches during treatment, aided by his increased muscle relaxation and his improved eating habits. Thus far, after 6 months of stem cell treatment, he has shown significant improvements whereby he can spread his fingers, hold objects more easily, lift his arms and even relax his legs on his own. He has also gained better control of his head and neck.

He is talking much more than before, using full sentences and showing an improved ability to assimilate new words into his vocabulary and respond more quickly.
